EaterWire: Stereo Owners to Take Over Canal Room, Bowery Poetry Club Cafe Rentable

New, 2 comments

TRIBECACitysearch blog Imbible got the tip today that the owners of the recently shuttered Chelsea club Stereo plan to take over the Canal Room space on West Broadway: " one at either club could be reached for comment, our information comes directly from a reliable source in the nightlife industry, and was also independently confirmed by the owner of another unnamed Soho hot spot. [Imbible]
UPDATE: The owners will be getting a new space but not at Canal Room. [Imbible]

EAST VILLAGE—As you can see from this sign at right, the cafe inside the Bowery Poetry Club is for rent. Let's not get all crazy people. The Bowery Poetry Club itself isn't going anywhere (it "continues"), but place is assumed fair game for anyone wants to sell coffee from inside club. [EaterWire]

WILLIAMSBURG—The first reviews are in from the fancy Williamsburg coffee shop, Beit with its $11,000 espresso machine, and the verdict is...meh: "I can't say that their "special" coffee was the best cup I've had in New York, or even Brooklyn for that matter...I will say this though; the guys that work there are super nice, very knowledgeable, and it's a real trip to watch them make the single cup of coffee from the crazy machine (part of the process involves a squeegee!)"
