EaterWire: One if By Land Lien Issues, Knitting Factory Move, Arrow Bar Revealed

New, 3 comments

WEST VILLAGE— West Village stronghold One If By Land, Two If By Sea might be in a little trouble if its landlords don't pay their water bills. According to a piece last week in the Sun and confirmed by the city's Dept. of Finance site, if the water bills aren't paid off at 17 Barrow St. within the next 90 days, the city will put a lein on the property and foreclose. TRIBECA—Both the liquor license and the lease are up on the Knitting Factory in the next year and the building's for sale. Natch, they're considering moving: "Brooklyn Vegan is reporting that the folks behind the 'Knitting Factory have applied for a liquor license at 504-508 E 14th St.' PaperMag got in touch with Gene from TKF, who says 'it’s one of the many places we’re looking at.' Considering that CB 3 hates to give out liquor licenses to just about everyone...we can't forsee them getting approved for this space." [DBTH]

EAST VILLAGE— Imbible has the first write up and photos of Arrow, the latest bar to take over the old Rook location: "Enter Arrow, which is stepping it up with big-name DJs, regular weekly parties (including Heavy Metal Happy Hour Fridays), and two-for-one drink specials til 9pm daily. A nice selection of bottled brews runs the gamut--from $5 Buds (which beat a $3 can of Hipster Juice any day of the week), to higher-end international suds like Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout (U.K.) and Japan's Hitachino Espresso Stout."
