Just when we thought the underwhelming, though one-starred, LES restaurant Rayuela was marching ever closer to the Deathwatch list, we hear it's opening a second branch. And in the former shitbox LoSide, no less. From a tipster on foot: "I was walking down the street and saw a couple of guys closing the door at the old Loside, triple checking that it was locked. They told me that Rayuela has had the space for almost a year, but but they are working on it now - a take out/quick service style latin restaurant, gunning for April opening. An impressive goal, but slightly out of proportion with the standing time." A call to Rayuela confirms: they're shooting for a March 26 opening, the space is on East Houston, and they will be offering a more casual menu of their South American and Spanish specialties.
