Year in Bruni Bonus

Franktastic blogs up his final, assorted thoughts on the Year in Eating 2008, including his own response to the dining neighborhood of the annum: "I wasn’t surprised to see that many of the year-end commentators who answered questions for the web site eater.com selected the East Village as the dining neighborhood of 2008. The East Village seems in particular to be the capital of what I’ve come to think of as incidental eating: eating outside the confines or context of a conventional restaurant meal. It’s a neighborhood that champions humble restaurants with targeted missions, casual restaurants, or even quasi-restaurants, devoted to doing just one thing or one type of thing incredibly well."
