EaterWire: Schrager Issues Conant Denial, Special Soft Opening at City Winery, Gordon Ramsay Wants (To Humiliate) You!

City Winery

GRAMERCY—First up, despite what multiple sources have told us about this, an Ian Schrager spokesperson writes: "There have not been discussions between ISC and the owners of Scarpetta about the restaurant space in the Gramercy Park Hotel. Mr. Schrager did recently dine at Scarpetta, whose owners are longtime friends of one of his colleagues." On the question of would Mr. Schrager consider working with Mr. Conant, no response yet. Also, there was some harsh langauge about Eater that we removed for, shall we say, brevity. [EaterWire]

HUDSON SQUARE—Here's something from the good folks over at City Winery: "Just wanted to invite you and your readers to our soft opening tomorrow night. I've chosen some really special and rare wines that you would never see poured by the glass." More: City Winery is opening its doors tomorrow to friends, neighbors and wine enthusiasts for a sneak preview of the space and menu. Hours are 6-12 AM and wines include: 1987 Lopez de Heredia Tondonia Rioja Gran Reserva $15; 1989 Olga Raffault Chinon 'Les Picasses' $10'; 1970 Francesco Rinaldi Barolo $20; 2001 Emidio Pepe Trebbiano d'Abruzzo $10; 1993 Julius Echter Berg Riesling Spat Trocken $10; Henriot NV Champagne $5. Pricing is for one night only. [EaterWire]

PLANET RAMSAY—Given the show's epic track record, that they can cast anyone on this show is miraculous. Just in case: Are you Looking to Resuscitate your Restaurant? Is the economy affecting your restaurant? FOX'S hit show "KITCHEN NIGHTMARES" wants to hear from you! Does your restaurant need HELP? Are you trying to make some green, but still running red? Do you and your chef have different ideas about the menu? Or maybe you have a great location, but it doesn't seem to entice many customers? If you want to apply to have Chef Gordon Ramsay come into your establishment for one week to troubleshoot your problems and try to get you back on the road to success. [sic] Contact us NOW!" [CL]
