The Shutter: Doomed Archipelago Throws in the Towel

Soho West: Just 15 blocks north of the recently shuttered Devin Tavern, the two and a half month-old restaurant Archipelago has also closed for good. Though the run was short, this place was doomed from the start, spared from the Deathwatch list after being deemed a case of low hanging fruit. Why it was doomed: the wasteland West Soho location was what killed its predecessor Dani, and the Japanese-French fusion theme wasn't really a win for the neighborhood. Our sources tell us the management received official word on Monday and let go all employees same day. Never something you want to hear. But anyone wanting to give the space a third resident in the span of a year, she's all yours.
