The Plywood Report: Yogurtberry, Lillie's, Sintir, and More

New, 1 comment

1) Williamsburg: eks in Williamsburg finally has a competitor (other than Tasti). Yogurtberry is opening up right next to the Subway on Bedford and North 7th, adding the the growing strip mall feel to the street. [PLYWOOD]

2) Flatiron: Shecky's spots a new spot on East 17th, Lillie's: "This new Victorian Irish pub won't look new at all when it opens in mid-December: The narrow room is dominated by an ornate, carved wood bar, the likes of which we haven't seen since Cedar Tavern was still serving pints. Owners Tom Burke and Frank McCole bought the antique bar and furnishings in Belfast and shipped them over to New York..." [PLYWOOD]

3) East Village: EV Grieve spots Sintir, a restaurant opening soon in the East Village: "One of the many vacant storefronts along East Ninth Street between Avenue A and First Avenue will soon be a Moroccan restaurant. (OK, we're assuming Moroccan given that Sintir is 'a three stringed skin-covered bass plucked lute used by the Gnawa people of Morocco.') [PLYWOOD]

4) Park Slope: Brownstoner brings word of a new South Slope space: "This little corner of the Slope (or South Slope, depending on if you think South Slope starts at 9th or 15th Streets), is seeing more and more action: restaurants and cafés are making their way down 6th Avenue. Now, a new one will join them. Slope's Bistro Restaurant Bar and Grill is moving into number 522." [PLYWOOD]

5) Park Slope: And a minor update on the wine bar opening on 7th Avenue between 11th and 12th, from a Slope tipster: "The wine bar across the street from Big Nose Full Body is...creeping toward completion. I got a shot inside and the actual bar is installed, so that's a start." [PLYWOOD]
