Banksy on Sustainability

2008_10_banksy.pngPainting murals isn't the only thing Banksy is up to in New York. His first installation here is a play on a pet store, complete with glass windows facing the street and tanks of "animals". Yet instead of fish, we have animatronic fish sticks, instead of chickens, chicken nuggets, instead of dogs, hot dogs: "I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming,' Banksy said in a statement distributed by a publicist, 'but it ended up as chicken nuggets singing.'"
