Build Out Update: Months Away From Opening, Brooklyn Bowl Throws a Party

Williamsburg: One of our favorite Build Out subjects, the epic music venue/bowling alley/bar/restaurant Brooklyn Bowl, is still very, very, very far from opening. But that didn't stop them from throwing a little preview on Friday to show off a half dozen of their newly installed lanes. Though the guests had to use a porta potty instead of a bathroom, drink beer from a cooler instead of a real bar tap, and eat cold fried chicken on a fold out table, the lanes work fine (and even clock your m.p.h.) and it was nice to see some actual bowlers in the space. A good sign but don't expect the full debut until after the holidays.
