Thursday Opening Report: Villa Rustica, Lansky's Certified Open, Braeburn Tomorrow

1) West Village: TONY and the Times have it that Fall Preview superstar Braeburn will open this week in the former Voyage space. The former writes: “Brian Bistrong (The Harrison) debuts his first solo effort, a seasonally-minded bistro with dishes—such as braised rabbit with root vegetables—that will frequently feature produce from the chef’s Connecticut garden.” Status: Not Open. 2) East Village: TONY’s lengthy opening list this week includes Desnuda, (which means naked in Spanish), a new ceviche bar in the East Village. They write: “From the owner of the Bourgeois Pig comes this tiny 20-seat ceviche bar. The chefs double as servers while preparing both traditional and creative cured-fish dishes like salmon with lychee juice and curry. Status: Unknown. 3) Tribeca: TONY also reports that the 92 Street Y adds a meat-free, kosher café to their new downtown arts center called, appropriately, 92Y Tribeca Cafe. They write: “With the opening of the 92nd Street Y’s downtown arts and entertainment center also comes this meat-free, kosher cafe. In the evening, expect table service and dishes composed of local ingredients. Status: Not Open. Opening Saturday. 200 Hudson Street; 212-601-1000. [TONY]

4) Upper West Side: Flo Fab has a short write-up on Lansky’s Old World Deli which she claims opened on Monday. She writes: “David Ruggerio has crafted a delicatessen menu for this spacious place, which opened on Monday.” Status: Certified Open. 235 Columbus Avenue; 212-787-0400. [NYT]

5) Midtown: Flo Fab also has it that a western branch of staple Le Petit Un Deux Trois opens this week, writing: “Formerly Le Madeleine, this western branch of a theater district staple offers an easygoing French menu in a bright room.” Status: Certified Open. 403 W. 43rd Street; 212-489-4900. 6) Park Slope: Gowanus Lounge reports that pizzeria Villa Rustica opened Monday. He writes: “Villa Rustica, which was setting up shop in the defunct pizza place on Third Street next to Stone Park Cafe officially opened yesterday, per a report from GL Correspondent Max Casey, Max reports: “A guy I talked to said he’d tried one of their slices and it was ‘pretty good.’” Hmm. Not a ringing endorsement, but we’ll be waiting for the reviews to roll in given that any new opening in the Slope is greeted like the Second Coming.” Status: Certified Open. 357 Third Street; 718-832-2700.
