Michael Pollan submits an epic piece about (what else) politics, the environment, and food prices, there's a look inside the fridges of foodies, Bittman pens a short piece on taking food seriously, and even William Safire gets in the game, discussing "Locavorism." A highlight: the piece on Shopsin's, in which Kenny describes his relationship with his customers thusly: "Sometimes my mind works a bit too fast, and I come to the conclusion of a relationship with customers faster than they get there. The abruptness of my understanding the essence of what’s happening is really upsetting to them...” [NYT]
