Oversaturated Fro-Yo Market on the Retreat; Replaced by Oversaturated Ramen Market

New, 3 comments

East Village: There are almost a dozen, both name brand and spin off variety, fro-yo joints on St. Mark's Place between 3rd and 1st Avenues. Finally, finally one is closing instead of opening. Saec (formerly known as Very Berry) ot 32 1/2 St Marks is being replaced by a second branch of Ramen Setagaya. It is vital here to note that Setagaya's original shop is a mere two and a half blocks away and is in the proximity of the far superior ramen shops Momofuku Noodle Bar and Ippudo. Yet here it is, coming soon. We have to say that the right move here in this situation is to diversify to Midtown.
