EaterWire AM Edition: Alison Eyeing NYC Return

BRIDGEHAMPTON/WEST VILLAGE—Hot off the BeachWire comes word that restaurateur Alison Becker Hurt, who's resided in the Hamptons since the shuttering of her longtime New York haunt Alison on Dominick (right) in 2002, is looking for space in the city. Hurt, whose Alison Restaurant in downtown Bridgehampton superseded her Sagaponack haunt Alison by the Beach, isn't looking to abandon the East End; rather, she'd return to a bicoastal schedule. So where might she be setting up shop in NYC? One intriguing rumor comes from Estancia 460 proprietor Stacey Sosa, who blogs , "Alison... will be making her return to New York on 13th street where Gonzo is now." Interesting, considering Gonzo is still very much open for business following the passing of chef Vincent Scotto last year.
