Our comrades at Curbed note some of its shortcomings, but we're enjoying EveryBlock, a new neighborhood news aggregation site that launched yesterday. Once you master the navigation (which, admittedly, is a bit arcane), you're rewarded with neighborhood maps of recent health inspections (note the recent s'mackdown of S'mac, above), liquor license approvals, and even Yelp reviews. If they can get the liquor license news more up to date—the data's only updated through mid-fall 2007 in the East Village, for example—we might really have something here.
