PARK AVENUE SOUTH—Here's a little fresh plywoody buzz about restaurateur Steve Hanson's latest: "Stopped off at Primehouse to check on the progress. The hostess said they'd be open October 1st [confirmed—ed.] Inside, the place is bright, with a lot of marble (visual pun, perhaps?). According to the preview menu, the porterhouse for two is listed at $86. That's gotta be a record. Also, they've apparently adopted their own bull, but I don't know if it will a breeder. NOHO—Unconfirmed kitchen gossip, via a source clearly on one side of some sort of conflagration: "Word has it there has been a major falling out at Mercat on Bond street.
