Clubland Update: 27th Street to Become Less Hellish; Chinatown About to Be Destroyed

The worst of times for West 27th Street clubland may be behind us, Lois Weiss reports today for the Post. Spirit, Scores West and others are on the market, while Amy Sacco and her darling lease will stay put. Related, the Observer notes that Gold Bar and The Box are just the beginning for the Chinatown/Nolita/Lower East Side zone. Emma Clearly is overhauling Double Happiness, Danny A is already operating Upstairs and, of course, Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce looms large in the distance (Forty Deuce, we have to note, was not mentioned in the Observer story—a gigantic oversight if ever there was one). More on the ebb and flow via the clicks.
