Dish: BarFry Opens Today

9:44 AM, BarFry on the morning of its debut. Those are brioche buns waiting to be ushered into the kitchen.

Today, Josh DeChellis debuts his all-tempura concept, BarFry, in the West Village. Market Table, which is just a handful of Carmine Street storefronts to Josh's right, will be the next up, but for now Josh has got the new breezy/posh/local market cornered. Arguably it's irresponsible in this day and age to open a restaurant dedicated entirely to fried foods, but that's neither here nor there. There will certainly be some heat on this place in the early goings, though if you go this week, tonight especially, you should expect a) to get in; and b) to see Josh front and center.
