BruniBetting: Rayuela

Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Rayeula, the new Latino restaurant on the LES. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:

Zero Stars: 4-1
One Star: 2-1 ??
Two Stars: 6-1
Three Stars: 75-1
Four Stars: 25,000-1
Generally speaking, the early word on Rayuela is that it is not a mess, which gives us a good starting point for this installment of BruniBetting. If it was a total disaster, it could be a contender for the zilch train, what with its ambitious decor and loosey-goosey PR promises ("first-of-its kind Estilo Libre Latino (Freestyle Latino) cuisine"). That it is better than your typical LES three-ring circus restaurant debut puts it in the running for a star—or two, especially if you're looking at last week's review of Cafe Boulud as a warm-up. Bruni will also like the fact that we've got a couple of heavily invested owners, Hector Sanz and Paul Fernandez, who have been consistently on-site from the beginning. This gets the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, if nothing else. So, bettors, act as you wish. We're taking a one star review that reads somewhere between one and two.
