Upper East Side Boozing: Bloomies, Dylan's Applying for Liquor Licenses

All week at Curbed, neighborhood blogger 78thand2nd is working a guest blogger stint, entertaining with wild tales of Second Avenue debauchery and Park Avenue help staff antics. By special arrangement, he's filing a post or two for Eater as well. Shall we, then?

The wild and crazy Community Board 8, which represents the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island and, as we know, makes recommendations to the city on issues like permits liquor licenses therein, is scheduled for a sit down Wednesday night. On the agenda? The go-ahead for spots like Dylan's Candybar, Bloomingdales, and Parlor Steakhouse. If you have strong feelings about the combination of perfume spritzers and bubbly, the meeting is taking place at Hunter College School of Social Work, 129 East 79th. On the docket:

Reviewing liquor license applications to the New York State Liquor Authority for:
· Dylan’s Candybar, LLC, 1011 Third Avenue (E. 60th Street and Third Avenue) – Application for on-premises liquor license. (Laid over from previous meeting)
· 303 East 85th St. Restaurant Corp., 303 E. 85th Street (E. 85th Street and Second Avenue) – Application for on-premises liquor license. (Laid over from previous meeting)
· Bloomingdales, Inc., 1000 Third Avenue/59th Street and Lexington Avenue – Application for on-premises liquor license. (Laid over from previous meeting). Application withdrawn.
· Joshua Michael LLC d/b/a Parlor Steakhouse, 1626 Second Avenue (E. 85th Street) – Application for on-premises liquor license. (Formerly DTUT Coffee Lounge). Application withdrawn.
Bloomingdale's and Dylan's, just across the street from each other presents some interesting possibilities, as does Dylan's alone. It does seem the pain of screaming children could be reduced by a stiff cocktail or two.
