2007 James Beard Awards: T-Minus Two Hours

In less than two hours, the James Beard Awards will be underway at Avery Fisher Hall. By the end of the night we'll find out if McNally or Nieporent (or, gasp, neither) walks away with Restaurateur of the Year honors; whether Brennan's Picholine, renewed and reinvented, will take the Top Restaurant medal; and who among Chang, Humm, Nate Appleman, Graham Bowles and Patrick Conelly will get the Rising Star nod.

Eater is en route to the awards because there are free Chang pork buns Beard matters. If you can wait until the wee hours of the morning, we'll be brining you the results, as well as commentary on such things as what sweet nothings Drew whispers into Paul Liebrant's ear. For the instant gratification junkies, we're told that the winner are going to be posted semi-live at jamesbeard.org and we understand that big bad Ed Levine may be filing at Serious Eats.
