Though Tia Pol chef Alex Raij issued us a very clear denial a short while ago, there is fairly reliable intel floating about to suggest that Tia Pol and the neighboring Izakaya Ten may soon close. Said intel, in the form of a blind item we received from a good source this morning: "What West Chelsea tapas restaurant is quietly on the market as it’s owner is trying to figure out whether it’s worthwhile to close it and the adjacent Japanese restaurant to build new condos?"
We'll investigate further, of course. But, in any case, Tia Pol devotees will take some solace in knowing that its new baby sister restaurant, slated for West 24th Street, is looking good for a mid-to-late-Summer debut.
