EaterWire: LES Two Boots Finally Opening, Chelsea's Porky's and Snitch Are Not Closed

LOWER EAST SIDE—They must have straightened out that whole gas-line issue, finally. We hear that mini-pizza chain Two Boots is celebrating the opening of its new outpost on Grand Street tonight. [EaterWire Inbox]

LOWER EAST SIDE—Rumors of Katz's demise are nothing new. Today, we're hit with another one: that the building that houses the eatery will be demolished to make way for a high-rise condo, which, upon completion, will serve as the new home for the restaurant. Nice twist! Of course, none of this has actually been confirmed by Katz's owners. [Cutlets]

CHELSEA—Correction time. Yesterday, we received a reader note stating that Porky's, a drinking establishment on 21st Street, had been closed for serving minors. Today, the establishment's management sets us straight—they are currently open for business. As for the whole "serving minors" issue, that was something the venue had been fined for in months past. Also contrary to the same tipster, Snitch on West 21st Street is not closed but is, in fact, open for business. Eater regrets the errors. [EaterWire]
