BruniBetting: Anthos

Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Anthos, the Midtown West Greek restaurant owned by Donatella Arpaia and Michael Psilakis. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:

Zero Stars: 7-1
One Star: 4-1
Two Stars: 2-1 ??
Three Stars: 7-1
Four Stars: 25,000-1
Well, bettors, Platt gave it a deuce, which generally translates into the same number from Bruni, Platt being the somewhat tougher grader. Plus, both david burke & donatella and Dona have two stars, the latter from Bruni, which further strengthens the case for two here. If you want to roll the dice, don't bet down, bet up: despite the sleep-inducing decor, the food may very well be deemed of a three star caliber. As for our money, we're wagering the Bruni is pleased with the food but is compelled to subtract points for decor and, even if he doesn't mention it explicitly, the fact that he was definitely ID'd. Two stars for Anthos.
