EaterWire: Lucky Strike Hires New Chef & More!

SOHO—Though McNally-opened bistro Lucky Strike has a new chef, Wen Chen (formerly of Odeon), the menu will remain unchanged. The restaurant's owners are giving Chen a little room to be creative, though: he's preparing daily specials as well as a 3-course prix fixe that'll run May 6 through May 10. Also inquire about their 'lucky' dinner comping program. [EaterWire]

GRAMERCY/FLATIRON—Eleven Madison Park lost blockbuster pastry chef Nicole Kaplan a few months ago and has yet to find a real replacement. Until they hire someone permanently, chef Daniel Humm will be handling both the regular menu and desserts. [Cutlets]

BOREUM HILL—Remember that Jamaican restaurant Brawta that was temporarily shuttered by the Feds? Well, it's open again. From a reader, "Reported closed by you a few days ago... was open when I walked past on Tuesday." [EaterWire Inbox]

CHINATOWN—The plywood reports are just flooding in today. From Chowhound: "Walking up Mosco St. towards Mott, an old building with a new balcony caught my eye. The doors were wide open and from the ground level one could obviously see that the interiors were completely renovated with sky lights. At first I thought someone had taken up residence but a small maroon flag with the name 'Mosco Pizza' caught my eye." [Chowhound]
