EaterWire: Midtown To Get A Mechanical Bull & More!

MIDTOWN WEST—Could New York City finally be getting a mechanical bull? (FYI: For those of you planning a bachelor or bachelorette party, there are virtually none to be found within the five boroughs.) We were excited to read this email, from a tipster, "there is a new place opening at Rock Center called Jonny Utah. I stayed in the hotel above and it was noted it will open in two months. It's in the basement of the hotel on 51st. the front desk told me it will be a trendy/ chic "cowboy cusine'' - and they will have a Mechanical bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's all I know." Could her or she be referring to The Michelangelo Hotel on W 51st Street, home to new Italian restaurant Insieme? [EaterWire Inbox]

2007_04_red%20hook%20ballfields.jpgRED HOOK—There is a very remote chance that the Red Hook ballfield vendors will be serving up food this Sunday afternoon, seeing that the first Red Hook Park adult league soccer game of the season is scheduled for Sunday. But, that would be very early for the vendors, who usually arrive at the end of April. For those of you hardcore enough to trek down there based upon mere speculation, let us know, won't you? DUMBO—The owner of Bubby's took patrons' comments about the restaurant going downhill seriously—he fired the chef and is now manning the kitchen himself. [Brooklyn Record]
