The Russian Tea Room is as institution as they come, but that's not going to help it get through the next five months—the time between now and September, when the restaurant business in NY picks up again. Robins is gone, the bills continue to pile up, and the house is a ghost town. Our best guess is that the venue will morph into a very casual dining room and bar downstairs and a private events space upstairs. If that doesn't work, the building will become solely and events space. OVER/UNDER: In June 2007, if not before, a major concept and strategy change will be announced.
