BREAKING: Kenny Shopsin Cooking Breakfast

While the great Kenny Shopsin waits for his permits to come through at the Essex Street Market, he's quietly decided to team up with Anne Saxelby, of Saxelby Cheesemongers fame, on breakfast egg and cheese sandwiches. As we understand it, she takes orders at her stall (#17) and supplies Kenny with the ingredients at his stall (#16). He then cooks his signature egg and cheese, hands it back over to Anne and she passes said goodness onto you. Here's the note Saxelby send around this AM:

Saxelby Cheesemongers (with a little help from our friends) presents:

The best darn egg and cheese sandwich you've ever had.

So, it's Monday morning. You wake up all groggy headed after watching the super bowl, remembering Prince's somewhat spectacular halftime performance and think to yourself, well, now I've seen it all.

Wrong-o! You have something to look forward to... in the way of a delicious greasy spoon style sandwich. If you've ever had an egg and cheese you know how good they are, and how satisfying they can be on a cold winter's day. But instead of your average joe-schmoe deli ingredients, we're doing it up fancy-like.

Here's the rundown:

Grafton 2 Year Classic Cheddar
Indian Run Farms Free Range Eggs
Evans Farmhouse Clarified Butter (yikes!)
A little Portuguese roll from Teixeras Bakery

Since I don't have an oven, my good friend Kenny is doing the cooking, and I am playing the roll of meager waitress. Hey, my forte is cheese anyways. Not frying eggs.

Come on over and get yourself some breakfast-y love!

Get thee to the Essex Street Market posthaste. This thing has two-hour wait written all over it.
