Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Primehouse, Steve "The Full" Hanson's new steakhouse in Murray Hill. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:
Zero Stars: 4-1The Hanson has surely set his sights on a deuce this week—it's where respectable steakhouses should aim—but, there's a problem here: The Bruni just gave Peter Luger a two spot. To put this steakhouse, a very good steakhouse, great if one dabbles in the 45-day-plus aged cuts, on par with Luger is a pretty dicey and not entirely plausible proposition. The very different mix of price point, atmosphere, and approach will not, by our estimation, register quite as well with the Bruni as Luger's history and porterhouse. So the question for us this week is, Does the joint fail epically enough the wrong way to register a goose egg? Answer, certainly not. So this is the one that's getting us back on track: The Eater kitty is on one star for Primehouse.
