Eater Inside: Mermaid Inn

The layout of the new Upper West Side Mermaid Inn is nearly identical to that of its older East Village sibling, with the exception of few new menu tricks to keep the UWS stroller crowd happy. See also, roast chicken and steak. Cheffing up in here is Laurence Edelman, late of Barbuto; he's backed by Danny Abrams (who owns the restaurant downtown, and has also just opened Smith's, on Macdougal). The early word is the place is already packed, which isn't surprising: they should have opened a Mermaid UWS two years ago.
