Crisis Reverted: Jerry's Shuttering

When we took the above photo of Jerry's, the venerable (opened 1987) Soho eatery, in early November, the establishment assured us it wasn't its space that was for rent but rather another storefront on the street. Fair enough—until this morning's bomb in WWD that Michael Kors is moving in and Jerry's is moving out. Kors is set to open a "lifestyle store" in spring 2008, so there's likely some time left before full mourning commences. Nonetheless, the Deathwatch gains another member, and our hearts feel a little heavier.
