The Shutter reports on venue closings around town. As always, buckle up.
1) Lower East Side: Brooklyn Vegan drops some breaking music venue closing news: Sin-é, on Attorney Street on the Lower East Side, is set to shutter at the end of March. (The venue's official calendar indicates shows booked through February 3.) This one's a not insignificant loss to smaller bands and the fans who love them. [ADVANCE SHUTTER]
2) West Village: An Eater reader emails, "walking by setacci (hudson & leroy) this sunday i saw small note that they're closed for renovations. i hope so, because the one thing that kept me from trying when it was open was the cold, overly sparse interior. the fabric they're using to close off the view inside is lovely, perhaps a good sign." [TEMP SHUTTER/PLYWOOD/LOVELY FABRIC]
3) Chelsea: Across the transom yesterday, news of what we presume to be a Temporary Shutter: "I just heard word that Red Rock West in West Chelsea was seized for non-payment of taxes yesterday. There is the traditional orange SEIZED sticker on the smoker area's sign, didn't have a chance to get a picture of it though." [TEMPORARY SHUTTER]
