Eater Inside: The Monday Room

Somewhat quietly, Public has opened The Monday Room in the Nolita space adjacent to the main entrance to the restaurant. It's part wine bar and part living room -- two venues that generally work quite well together and, actually, are not paired that often. The Public team describes the inspiration for the venus as such:

The Monday Room allows us to invite people into the type of private environment that we have been enjoying amongst ourselves, friends and staff in the off hours- experiencing the wine and food with more information sharing, more variety, and more consciousness of how the food and wine may work together. Basically, this is our collective living room where we can share a more layered and personal wine experience.
Tasting flights, a rotating wine list and food pairings are all in store.

Design is by AvroKO, obvs. As for the name, it comes from a gent in New Zealand, and friend of Public, who had a room in his offices where he'd go to drink on Mondays. Genius, if true.
