New Blog on the Block today is the eight hours old Grub Street, Mr. Cutlet's piece of real estate all his own at New York online. An element of Moss' push to update the magazine's online presence, the blog is the keystone of the launch of a daily food section. And though sparkly new features ranging from menus to shills reader reviews and blogging from Platt were included on the pre-launch PR outline, the blog is what we've got thus far.
Per the blog's intro post (one of a mere three launch-day posts, in fact):
You'll find out which in-demand tables are available each night, where you might discover an overlooked lunch spot, what's worth reading elsewhere on the Web, and what Matthew Barney orders at Balthazar. There is also the tease of hourly posting, a poorly calculated promise if ever there was one. Not that we wouldn't love to see it happen.
One early and interesting post is on Ssäm Bar, where, Cutlets reports , they'll fire up their semi-private auxiliary kitchen tonight.
