Eater Inside: Farm on Adderley

Garden settings such as the one at Farm on Adderley continue to make a serious case for Brooklyn dining (Ditmas Park, here), especially when combined with solid, extremely well-priced menu offerings.

The venue is certainly not without rough edges, but rookie owners Gary Jonas and Allison McDowell and chef Tom Kearney (formerly of Sweetwater) do put the good foot forward. They're making nice with the neighbors, for example, and offering a kids menu, too. Important cocktail chatter fact: The name comes from a saying the Jonas family concocted when the young Jonas was a child in Cape Town and Adderley was among their local streets: “If that ever happens I’ll buy you a farm on Adderley.”
