McNally gets Williams, Freitag Signs On at Gusto

As had long been rumored, Jody Williams has left Gusto to helm the kitchen at Keith McNally's unnamed Italian entry (currently shrouded in plywood) just around the corner. Williams had let friends in on the news of her defecting late last week (though she'd been leaking word of the McNally negotiations for months) and Gusto PR confirmed yesterday with the official line being, "Jody left Gusto last week to travel in Italy and pursue other opportunities."

As for the vacated kitchen post at Gusto, it will be filled by the very talented Amanda Freitag (pictured), late of 'Cesca and Sette. She is slated to start mid-September. The hurling of flaming-hot meatballs across Greenwich Avenue is likely to start later in the Fall, when McNally's joint opens.
