We received this update re: Graydon Carter's plywooded Italian entry in the former Ye Waverly Inn:
"The brown paper was off the windows this morning, so I looked in. Front room is still the bar (already stocked!), with distressed wood floors, wainscoting, deep earth tones; side room appears to be sponge-painted in rusty red, with a quasi-cubist mural on one wall, distressed floors and, as far as I could see, no fireplace. Back room was barely visible through the open door, but looks to be less finished than the other two.
Given the proprietor's other occupation, I expected more glitz."
