EaterWire: AU Bar To Close, Wolfgang's Opens, More

· AU Bar, the legendary Eurotrash den on East 58th Street is to close after 20 years at the week's end. It'll reopen as The Grand in "September." No closing party because, "It's a very touristy and young crowd that won't blend well with the Park and Fifth Avenue set," says [owner Stratis] Morfogen. [Page Six]

· Wolfgang's Tribeca seems to have finally gotten its liquor license. Per a Saturday tipster: "Saw liquor deliveries going into Wolfgang's tribeca." And then yesterday, "It has opened." And final confirmation, in to the Wire late yesterday: "Today may have been the opening, because I could have sworn it was still shuttered on Friday. Or perhaps today was just "friends and family." But it had real people in it tonight." [EaterWire Inbox]

· RumorWire: "rumor has it that champagne corks were popped today over at gilt, (in the old le cirque space, of course,) which got three stars from platt where today's le cirque review, as you know, only shows two." [EaterWire Inbox]

· "Is the cam busted? I haven't seen an image in over a day. All I get is
black. :( Any news on it?" Emails are in to the appropriate people, people. Hold tight. [EaterWire]
