Via the EaterWire, we have learned that Blue Mill, the 50 Commerce Street sequel to Grange Hall*, has closed. Details are few and the restaurant could not be reached for comment. However, based on several spot inspections over the course of the last year, we'll wager that the combination of a high price point and mediocre food did them in. (Or maybe this had something to do with it.) What should have been the quintessential neighborhood destination, located in an historic building to boot, lacked the intangibles to make it so.
The venue is owned by the group behind Chumley's, so perhaps there is another chapter yet to emerge.

*History enthusiasts will want to note that Grange Hall actually replaced the first Blue Mill, which had occupied 50 Commerce since roughly the late 1940s.
