· "It wasn't that long ago that Jefferson was added to the deathwatch list, as I recall. Now, there seems to be a new concept in place - noticed over the weekend that Jefferson, which became Jefferson Grill last year, is now Jefferson Seafood...apparently skewers are out and fresh fish with asian sauces are in ... noticed on the menu in the doorway that Simpson Wong is no longer listed as chef ... they've also tweaked the decor, with a huge mirror on the back wall (with the menu written on the mirror) but the place still has about as much warmth as warmth as Woody Allen's house in Sleeper. On the bright side, prices seem reasonable, and the menu mentioned a hoisin burger that didn't sound half bad ...[EaterWire Inbox]

· "Word from one of the brother-owners of Grape & Grain is that their new "eclectic beer bar", right next door, will be open within a month. And they're going to be serving beer food -- ie sausages and other greasy goodies. Effing-a. [EaterWire Inbox]

· Jean Luc, owned by the famously not-French Ed Kleefield, is closed for renovations in July and August. If and when they are closed in September for renovations, we will alert the Deathwatch committee. [EaterWire]
