EaterWire: South Beach Cafe, Cacio e Vino, Pop Burger

Today's EaterWire: short and sweet.

thumb-South Beach.jpg · A little uptown flava (ahem, right) courtesy of Uptown Flavor's courteous Harlem reader: "I live right around the corner from South Beach Cafe and we chatted with them a few times. They have been waiting for inspection clerance from the state of NYC so that they can open up." [Uptown Flavor]

· The guys behind the East Village's menu-item-as-restaurant-name Cacio e Pepe are opening up Cacio e Vino in the Second Avenue space most recently occupied by British fry-up masters A Salt and Battery. Expect Rome-inspired wine and cheese within the month. [EaterWire Staff]

· POP takes downtown. A reader writes: "So on orchard st. btwn stanton and rvington. closer to rivington on the east side. there is a new apt building being completed. Underneath is an open bar/retail space. They are soon opening a POP burger in the space, the lease is almost signed and they will start build out soon. horay for gentrification!" Hip hip, indeed.
