Friday's Plywood Report featured a dazzling photograph of shuttered East Village stalwart Kiev wrapped in plywood. What, we wondered, was going on behind the scenes? Comes the blog Slavs of New York to serve up a juicy rumor:
On Saturday, Slavs of New York happened by extensive rennovations - the entire interior has been gutted and the facade is boarded up. According to an older Ukrainian gentleman who lives in the area, the site is to become a Greek restaurant now, but will retain the name Kiev.Which, really, makes a perfect sort of sense.
