From the always-on-top-of-things NY1 comes this buzzflash:

You swirl it, sniff it and sip it, but it's not wine. These days it seems sake is the hottest thing... Some sake is so smooth it almost tastes like water.

Now the big question is hot or cold? Most people don't realize that 95 percent of all sake is actually meant to be served cold, because heating it up actually removes most of the flavor, leaving behind the bitter taste of alcohol... So whether its hot cold, sweet or dry, this true taste of the East is really in a glass by itself.
