No fewer than three intrepid (and eerily quick) East Forties correspondents have written in to inform us of the latest Yama branch, making this a veritable Tuesday afternoon Rashomon of sushi.
First, a mystery (and the photo at right):
Was hoping you could confirm the opening of the Yama chain on East 49th between 1st and 2nd in the old Summit space. No word yet of an opening on Menu Pages or the like.Second, an answer:
I haven't seen anything about this anywhere, so I wanted to let you know that Yama has opened a location on 49th between 1st and 2nd. I've attached a (not very good) photo (above). It's been open nearly a couple weeks and seems pretty quiet.And finally, a critique:
There is a new addition to the YAMA chain - 49th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues opened about 10 days ago. It's very nice inside with the same reliably good and reasonably priced sushi.Narrative completion, as always, welcome.
