Junior's Times Square Update: Cheesetastic in June

The Daily News brings us an update on Junior's Times Square, the planned 280-seat (200 inside; 80 outside) offshoot of the Brooklyn cheesecake mecca. Junior's owner, Alan Rosen tells the News that he's put a cool $1 mil into renovating the W45th St. space (most recently the very short-lived Bolzano's), adding new touches such as murals of Brooklyn landmarks. Certainly, this will help tourists manage their itineraries, as they can now visit both Junior's and see the Brooklyn sights just steps from their Times Square hotel rooms. (Good for tourists; better for Brooklynites.)

Rosen says the restaurant, slated to debut in June, will open for breakfast at 6:30 AM daily, which is rather a smart move, as the neighborhood's early morning options are, indeed, rather thin.
