The full list of '06 Beard nominees has been released, with NY dominating only in very specific areas. In graphics and design, for example, we've got four of six nominees (The Modern, Haku (closed), Country, and Sant Ambroeus) and three of five nominees in both Restaurateur and Chef categories – respectively, Drew, JGV, and Daniel Boulud, and Colicchio, The Mats (though, admittedly, for LA's Matsuhisa), and Alfred Portale.
In the Best Chef: New York category, noms go to Dan Barber (Blue Hill), David Burke (db&d), Floyd Cardoz (Tabla), Gabriel Kreuther (The Modern), and David Waltuck (Chanterelle).
Other items of note: Del Posto gets a nomination for Best New Restaurant and David Chang (Momofuku) gets one in the Rising Star of the Year category.
Awards will be given at a ceremony in NY on May 8th.
