Fresh off its opening weekend, this is BelDel's new NY brasserie, the very familiar looking Casanis. File this one under Aggressive: the name comes from Casanis, a type of -- wait for it -- Pastis (Pastis). Though the buzz train has yet to get going here, clearly expectations should be of a LES McNallyland knockoff. Which, when there's a wait at Schiller's, isn't necessarily a bad thing.
NB: No relation to this, now closed, Casanis. Flo Fab has it today that the old and the new do share an owner.
