We've been noticing the spaetzle cropping up here and there, but it wasn't until we found it Strong-ed into the Post that we figured eight makes a trend. From this weekend's food section, an (edited) list of the "little sparrows," mit extras.
There's ringleader Kurt Gutenbrunner, with parsley at Thor, rabbit at Wallse, and schnitzel at Blaue Gans. Scott Conant with chestnut and squab at Alto, David Burke with duck liver at davidburke&donatella.
Strong missed our tries: traditional (with cheese) at Park Slope's Steinhof, red cabbage-infused at WD-50, and fried at the Modern.
