Because there was a shred of doubt about whether this Hooters business was a hoax or not, we called the landlord of the former 2nd Avenue Deli space, Jonis Realty, to get confirmation. The official word from them:
"Oh yes. It's definitely a hoax. Yes. Thanks for calling."Which means three things. First, though the year is early, we have a very clear front-runner for Hoax of the Year honors. Second, the services of this blog will no longer be needed. And third, we are expecting those responsible to come forward to claim their prize (photo of inkjet printer required for prize validation).
