Tomorrow, the Bruni's target is the new and, perhaps, improved Picholine. Today the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:
Zero Stars: 15-1Terrance Brennan's Picholine has been awarded three stars twice before, the first time by Ruth Reichl in 1993. It has held its stars and reputation impressively over the years and though one could easily argue that this latest renovation was equal parts actual change and PR stunt, it certainly did not come out a lesser restaurant on the other side. There are two other factors here, being the excellent cheese service and the fact that Mr. Frank likely caught a bit of the white truffle season when he was there. Indeed, only the intrepid bettor would gamble on less than three--and it would be a reckless bet at that. Eater is taking the status quo action, three stars.
One Star: 6-1
Two Stars: 5-2
Three Stars: 2-1
Four Stars: 10-1
