Slice: Patsy Grimaldi Coming Out of Retirement

Slice reported late yesterday that Grimadi's patriarch Patsy Grimaldi will come out of retirement to open Patsy's at Aviator, located at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Complex at Floyd Bennet Field. Kuban:

Mr. Grimaldi and his wife, Carol, will run the pizzeria, which is located in the "Brooklyn Hall of Fame Food Court," and that this will be something completely different for Mr. Grimaldi. First, he's doing slices, which he's never done before. Second, the oven is not coal-fired; it's a Wood Stone gas-fired, brick-lined oven.
As we understand it, the food court at Aviator was conceived of as a 'Best of Brooklyn' type set-up, so Patsy's will certainly fit in nicely. Additionally, one imagines that if Grimaldi has agreed to participate, other of his Brooklyn pioneer peers can't be far behind.
